Cultural and Ethical Impacts

Cultural and ethical impacts can influence how we write or what we write. Writing is different all over the world. I would say America is full of some of the most free-minded writers in the world. In some countries, you cannot write what you want or are restricted from talking bad about the government. Language can also deal with this. If you plan on releasing some text in France, it would not be smart to write it in Portugese. It would reach the same audience that it would if it were written in French or released in Portugal. I would link this learning outcome to some other learning outcomes in the class. CHAT can apply to this. Ecology, dealing with where the text is, can change the writing. Uptake can also apply to this. Giving a graduate level thesis driven text to poor African children will do nothing. In class, we always were talking about audience and the importance of it. Taking into account the culture and ethics of your audience has a big impact on the text.

People from all over the world have different experiences to writing. Culture and ethics heavily impact writing.
