Uptake and Antecedent Knowledge

Uptake and antecedent knowledge also popped up throughout the semester. According to ISUwriting.com, uptake is the process we go through to take up a new idea and think about it until it makes sense. Our uptakes are all different because of all the different experiences we have had before. My uptake is completely different from a baby's uptake who has had much less time to learn and experience things. Antecedent knowledge is all of the knowledge that we know already. Prior to coming to ISU, I had learned a great deal in grade school and high school to help me. Uptake and antecedent knowledge do not strictly have to be book smarts but can also deal with something like street smarts. Uptake and antecedent knowledge could be seen in my second project. For the multimedia project, I decided to do it on brochures because I worked with them before. I felt comfortable doing my project on it because of previous experience and prior knowledge.

Antecedent knowledge is prior knowledge.
