Writing Research Identity

According to ISUwriting.com, building a writing research identity means you are able to think beyond just acquiring skills and begin to understand how all of your skills and the ones you haven't yet acquired change what you can and can't do as a writer. Prior to writing, I have to do research. A writing research identity deals more with experiences and traits that you have before writing. I think your writing research identity deals more with the outside pressures of your writing. A writing identity is the process and formulation of finding yourself as a writer. In class, I think we practiced with writing research identity in every project. During projects, we had to do research on the genre and content before writing.
